Primary Application

  • Primarily used in straight pipeline runs where pure axial movement occurs and external protection is required.

  • Ideal for underground or exposed outdoor piping networks conveying steam, hot water, exhaust gases, or processing fluids.

  • Highly recommended for applications where the bellows could be subject to external impact, mechanical damage, or heavy environmental debris.

Structure & Specifications

  • Bellows Material: Stainless Steel SUS316 (Offers high flexibility and superior corrosion and pitting resistance).

  • Components Material: Available in Mild SteelSUS304, or SUS316.

  • Ending Type: Fixed Flanges (For rigid, leak-proof bolted connections to mating flanges).

  • Outer Shell: Available in Mild Steel or SUS304 (Encloses the flexible bellows entirely).

  • Inner Sleeve (Liner): SUS304 or SUS316 (Smoothes out fluid flow, prevents media turbulence, and protects the corrugations from high-velocity erosion).

Movement

  • Axial Movement: Yes (Primary function; absorbs compression and elongation along the longitudinal pipeline axis).

  • Lateral Movement: No (The rigid outer shell construction prevents lateral offset).

  • Angular Movement: No (The rigid structural configuration eliminates angular rotation or bending).

  • Insulation Support: The shell provides a solid external surface, making it easy to apply thermal insulation over the expansion joint without compressing or interfering with the movement of the bellows underneath.
